We are at the opening event in Ankara with our European Union Directorate Grant Program Team. Ambassador Christian Berger stated that: "The problem must be solved at its source. There is no important mechanism from NGOs in dealing with city, environment and daily life problems. In this sense environment in Turkey is quite rich: approximately 100 thousand NGOs and 9 million people working in these organizations. As the EU, we aim four factors with this program. Active citizenship, increasing collaborations between the public sector and NGOs, strengthening of organized active citizens and their network and establishment of ties between people in order to better understand Turkey and the European Union each other."
