WOB Turkey Mentors- Leaders’ Summit

During the return to normal process, we carried out private closed group meetings with our Mentors in order to increase our sharing. The first meeting took place on the evening of May 14. We listened to Prof.Dr. Deniz Ülke Arıboğan and Prof.Dr. Gökhan Hotamışlıgil on the period of the pandemic from the “Health and Social Perspective”, with the moderation of Canan Özsoy. During the second meeting carried out on the evening of June 2, we considered the process of return to normal, this time from the Economy and Business World Perspective. We listened to Bekir Ağırdır and Ömer Aras with the moderation of Mehmet Sönmez. We will continue our interactive discussions during the coming term as well.

Health Perspective
  • Are the measures taken sufficient? 
  • Individual measures? Mass testing, follow-up and isolation? 
  • The need for determining the risk profile? 
  • Are we ready for the second wave of the pandemic? 
  • Has the evolutionary distance been covered in laboratories?
  • Will it stop killing or will it become more mortal? How will the virus evolve?
  • Which vulnerabilities trigger the virus; age and metabolic diseases.
  • The problems the virus will leave behind as it goes away.
Social Perspective
  • Will the virus have taken more lives by the end of the process or will unemployment, hunger? 
  • The serious impact on our spiritual world and possible consequences.
  • The experiences of a generation that comes face to face with death for the first time.
  • As the pandemic allows for no place to escape, no chance to find a new refuge, what sort of damage can it inflict on individuals and on society?
  • Those who surrender and those who constantly worry and think negatively, increased polarization and its effects. 
  • Fault lines surrounding the world.
  • A world that withdraws into oneself, walls, increasing quest for security.

Economic Perspective 
  • Which of Turkey’s features from the past shines out when it comes to saving us from this chaos??
  • What are the economic opportunities for our country during this process? 
  • Through science we find what’s right for health, how do we find what’s right for the economy?
  • Positive and negative effects of Covid on various sectors. 
  • Progress of the economy, which direction does the relationship between states and organizations take?
Business World Perspective
  • Which leadership characteristics will shine out in the new normal?
  • Organizations; which essential innovations related to their relationships with employees, clients and suppliers should they add to their agenda? 
  • Can organizations protect their reputation with a charity based communication? 
  • Will products and channels evolve? 
  • “Human Resources” as the pivotal department of companies 
  • The structure of Boards of Directors will change through women, young people and directors that break the known rules
